2013年10月29日 · It's probably 50 years old. The former owner had an old-school cast iron insert in the fireplace venting directly up the chimney. I have removed the insert and would like to place a wood stove on the hearth and vent it up the chimney. Budget is an issue so I'm wondering if I can just run stove pipe up the chimney all the way to the top.

2020年10月24日 · I'm installing a wood burning stove to an existing chimney that was closed off before I bought the house. I lowered a camera through the chimney and it looks fine. I'm thinking that it was probably closed off to save on home owners insurance or something like that. My main question is how to connect the stove pipe to the chimney.

They say they'll have to do some blasting or something in the chimney, but it sounds like they do that stuff, and I'm hoping it's not too costly.
