2021年3月1日 · I am 48 and am running about 50-60 miles per week. As my foot pads continue to degrade with age I don’t expect I will be able eliminate the pain so I just keep trying to manage it as best as I can. For the neuroma, when it starts to flare up I wear wide toed shoes (like Altra’s, NB wide etc) and stick a metatarsal pad on top of their insoles.

2012年8月31日 · Jay is correct - metatarsalgia, a junk term/catch all phrase is it. 2nd MTP joint capsulitis is common from chronic overloading for various reasons (long 2nd met, forefoot varus, hallux valgus deformity, etc.) Biomechanical issue, so no true/real pathology noted on imaging in most cases, but a good clinician should be able to help offload the area.

2019年11月17日 · The best (most comfortable) shoes for my heels have always been in the Nike Free line of running shoes (they’ve evolved a lot over the years). They have always had a super soft heel counter. Unfortunately they don’t really work for me these days (due to other foot/leg issues I’ve been trying to stay ahead of).

2024年9月8日 · On the equipment side there are now tons of max cushion, super soft training shoes. When I was looking to reduce impact, I started doing runs in the ASICs Gel Nimbus 25. The shoe is slow af, but is like running on marshmallows.
