2013年10月21日 · So on my last wood stove, I got one of those el-cheapo cast iron oval humidifier pots form Tractor Supply and used it on a black cast iron VC stove. It left a helluva stain on the top of the stove. So I'm getting a new Jotul within the next 10 days and I want to run a humidifying pot on it but am afraid I will damage the finish.

2009年12月31日 · Get an enameled cast iron steamer, preferably the kind shaped like a pot with a lattice type lid for lots of evaporation. By all means put it on a trivet if your stove gets real hot just to slow it down. My stove is soapstone, so I put the steamer directly on the top and just never move it during the season so it doesn't scratch the surface.

2013年11月25日 · Yes, seriously. The best I ever got with a stove top temp of 550 (600 is redline on a heritage) was the tiniest little bubbles that would form on the bottom of the kettle. They never rose from the bottom so not even a simmer. I suspect a cat stove would have a hotter top temp since that cat element is right there and is freaking hot.

After a few years the kettle cracked and begun to ooze water. It looked cool but failed me. Get rid of trivet. Be sure there is no grit between stove and kettle.
