Undertale Yellow's No Mercy ending feels a lot less 'bad', because the reason for it is a lot more ambiguous, a muddied, corrupted version of Justice.

UT Yellow is way, WAY too hard. I don't know who play tested it, but some of these fights are beyond hard; the final Genocide boss is actually impossible without cheating (hence the lack of videos on it on YouTube from the 'speedrun for the clickbait!!!!!' people.
Flowey's characterization in Undertale Yellow is phenomenal
Flowey himself is heavily tied to the meta narrative of Undertale, but Yellow barely capitalizes on this vital aspect, only scratching the surface of it in Neutral. Without him being tied properly into an aspect like the meta narrative, his characterization lacks proper depth, it's an extremely surface level version of him.

2024年2月11日 · This is better setup if you had done several Neutral Runs, but essentially Flowey has tried to use Clover hundreds of times, and he's starting to believe (after the Neutral runs we partake in) that Clover might be a dead end entirely, that perhaps he'd be better suited waiting for another, possibly stronger human to fall.

2024年1月15日 · You're fighting Flowey in his own mind, and his mind is a very messed up place. Some extra food for thought, it seems Flowey has already killed Clover. He attacked first before absorbing Clovers soul. That would mean Clover during the Neutral fight is nothing but a disembodied soul, hence lines like "Clover would like to cry but they have no eyes."
Does it seem like Flowey is much stronger in Undertale Yellow
Looking at the Flowey fight in yellow, he’s clearly stronger than almost if not every monster in the Underground. His attacks put Asgore’s and Ceroba’s to shame. Especially in the second phase where he can literally change his appearance to a cartoon and paper mache. So do you think he’s likely just not if stronger than his omega form?

2023年11月29日 · That’s what I really love about Undertale. Sure, the story of the Pacifist route is great, but the real story is the one that leads the player to doing the Genocide run. I believe that the “intended” path of the game was for us to follow along Flowey’s path, doing everything the “good” way first, until it feels empty.

Some examples in yellow neutral ending, final boss flowey straight up changed the routes in the underground, because somehow it’s to difficult for clover, which is ridiculous and makes no sense, because Undertale is a very easy game, for Neutral and pacifist runs, where the only 2 monsters I had to think, to beat is mad dummy and asgore.
