2006年12月29日 · By the time this guard marked PAL M3 was made they'd improved their quality control. It's a much nicer finished knife than the earlier blade dated one. This example made in early 1944 and came in an early production SCABBARD, TRENCH KNIFE, M8. Note the light OD webbing, particulary the retaining strap. A typical example of a "blade marked" M3.

2024年8月4日 · Can anyone tell me what this 1913 16” Springfield Armory M1 bayonet is worth? It comes with a USN MK 1 scabbard. The blade is blackened, which I haven’t seen before. I believe this bayonet may have been arsenal refurbished for WWII, as the grips are Bakelite, so maybe the blade was blackened at this time as well.

2009年5月23日 · The blade has some corrosion that looks like it will have pitting underneath. M1913/M1917 blades are many times slightly bent, as are the scabbards, and the seller mentions nothing about this. I would ask. While I'm asking, I would inquire about small cracks in the blade; many M1913s have them but I haven't seen any on M1917 sabers.

2006年12月29日 · The knife has some evidence of some attempt to sharpen it on the short side. The long side blade is pristine. Handle and scabbard are in near perfect shape. There is no rust and you can see some patina from the knife being stored in the scabbard. The knife has been stored in Colorado since 1945.

2024年11月5日 · For the spine style M1917 trench knife, how is the blade retained inside the green leather scabbard? I’ve not read a single thing about them. I’ve got a reproduction here that doesn’t retain it at all, the knife just falls out when tipped. Thanks!

2012年11月18日 · I believe that Emmerson and Silver had a Patent on their scabbard that had somthing to do with the blade held in the scabbard with a compression devise inside the steel scabbard. These are often found with NJ (state of New Jersey) markings. Sarge your example is a very nice one, especially with an 1863 Date instead of 64 or 65 Ron Norman
