What is the difference between ST-LINK and JTAG?

2014年5月9日 · I think that the STM32 range does not support JTAG. The full signals required to support JTAG are not listed in the pin outs (at least for the STM32F405 device that I work on). The STM32 only support SWD. The ST-Link, Seggar J-Link and IAR I-Jet are 'debuggers'. They 'talk' the SWD protocol (the j-link and I-Jet also talk JTAG).

In the meantime, if anyone knows of original STM32 STlink source, or SWD example, or Arduino/STM32/AVR source that uses SPI to do SWD, to upload the flash to STM32 and check if it uploaded correctly - please drop a comment.
Anyone recommend JTAG pull up/downs? - STMicroelectronics
2008年6月26日 · says that the JTAG input pins have internal pull-up (JNTRST, JTDI, JTMS) and pull-down (JTCK), and there's no need for external pulls. However, it doesn't say what the resistance values are. I noticed on my Olimex eval board there are 10k pull-ups on all JTAG pins including JTCK, which has an internal pull-down.

2024年2月1日 · We use a 10-pin jtag plug on our boards, which is different from the STLINK pinout. The first STLINK pinout you come across on the internet is also a 10-wire, so I build an adapter for it. The problem is, the STLINK has a 14-pin on the debugger, where a 10-wire flat ribbon is put in the middle, meaning pins 1&2 and 13&14 are NC.
