I had my boat blasted last winter, definitely left the bottom a little coarse feeling, but bottom was faired and 3 coated with barrier coT and then painted. All I did was prop off the boat on my trailer, they removed it, blasted, painted it, put back on trailer and I towed it home.

RE: removing bottom paint I am in the same situation, and was told at the local shop to not think about removing it unless I wanted to pay for their cruise vacation. It was just very expensive to rehabilitate the boat back to "like new" condition on the gel coat.

I have the same problem: trailer the boat, and need a bottom paint for looks only. The original owner butchered the sanding on the bottom, so I need a dark paint on there to hide all the sins. If you strip your paint, you may find the bottom of yours in relatively good shape and requires just a light sanding/heavy compounding to get decent gelcoat.

2022年2月16日 · Boat is wet slipped. It's pretty sheltered at the marina so weather and wakes not a huge issue. I was considering a wrap but mentioned above I think it's a temporary solution. The boat is in really good shape. I rewired it, new electronics new top etc. I don't know why I tinker so much. Really no reason to do anything to the hull.
