2012年5月30日 · GoldenEye is one of my favourite Bond films, Tomorrow Never Dies is just outside my top 10, and TWINE is my 8 or 9th favourite depending on what day of the week it is, and Die Another Day, as weak as it was, still had a good central performance from Brosnan, even if he was slightly overshadowed by painfully bad SFX.

The Netflix algorithm clearly knows that I’ve been watching too many Pierce Brosnan films, so it’s no surprise I got a notification that The Out-Laws had arrived. This is amiable stuff, being both rather watchable and a bit rubbish at the same time. The Meet the Parents set-up should/could have been a lot funnier than it sadly is.

Dominic Ingle, the son of Brendan Ingle who Pierce is playing in the Naseem Hamed film, says that Brosnan visited the Ingle gym at Wincobank (about 2 miles from me!) earlier this year and told him that he'd met Brendan once when he went into the dressing room when Naz was fighting Kevin Kelley in New York.

2014年1月23日 · I enjoyed Brosnan in MARS ATTACKS and THE MATADOR. Those two films show that he can be a very capable actor. Had he modelled his Bond more along the lines of what he did in The Matador, his four films would still be C movies, but at least the character of Bond would have been a more interesting and unique one, instead of a generic soap opera take.

Some of the Pierciest Pierce too, with some classic chuckles to himself, one-hand-in-pocket clotheshorse posing, thoughtful middle-distance staring, even a trademark Brosnan mouth wipe in there. He's rocking out some of his classic moves. I guess the BMW being very similar to his TND one (same wheels even) can't be a coincidence!

Pierce is a bit younger than Helen Mirren and Ben Kingsley obviously, and there are plenty of good actresses in that age range. Off the top of my head, someone like Celia Imrie, Joanna Lumley, Zoë Wanamaker, Brenda Blethyn and Annette Badland would fall into that category. If younger, maybe Lesley Manville or Samantha Bond?

2011年5月10日 · Fair comment. Brosnan looked pretty good (after GE) as Bond. Of course Craig is in great physical shape, but Brosnan like Connery before him looked physically right. I imagine 007 to be strong-looking but not like he works out. Bond was too fond of the fineer things in life to be obsessed with the gym.
