Oct 15, 2024 · Here, we present the OSS of a cyclopenta-ring-fused oligo(m-phenylene) MC formed by nine fused indenes (9MC) on the Au(111) surface with an odd number of π-electrons (63 π-e) . This rigid molecule formally exhibits a multiradical doublet ground state, with a marginal energy difference between a full D 9 h and a reduced D 3 h symmetry structure.
