The Difference Between Flap Meat & Skirt Steak
2008年10月12日 · Flap and skirt steak is more expensive than strip around here. Fark, you used to be able to by briskets for nothing until all these folks started talking about the "secret" or "hidden" cuts. All it did was drive up the price of beef, which I guess I have mixed feelings about considering I have some steers, but Fark! 9 bucks a pound for flap meat?

2012年6月14日 · You'll get better flap meat at Costco...it's always USDA choice. My personal preference for beef taco meat is flap/skirt, as it's more richly marbled than other cuts like flat iron or tri-tip, although either would also be just fine. Ralph's sells really good choice flat irons in plastic packages, FYI, and we cook them up just like a regular steak.

Beef 'flap meat', altho looks similar to skirt, is from the bottom sirloin. Flap meat is not bad as a steak, IF, you marinate it and slice thin against the grain. Also makes great fajitas, kabob, stew meat, cube steak, finger steaks, etc.

2010年8月1日 · I sent my wife to buy some flank steak. But she came home with something called Flap meat. It is simular to flank steak but it looks like a much tougher cut of beef. Im sure Low and Slow is the best way to cook it, but what would I cook it for. Any Ideas?

2020年1月25日 · Besides the funky name, IMHO flap rules over flank, hanger, skirt or inside skirt cuts. I've had all the similar cuts and I'll take flap all day. It's readily available in CA and is the go to for carne asada here. So much so that most of the time it's more expensive than ribeye.

2011年4月15日 · There is still fat on it and there are usually 5 - 6 pieces in a bag they are thin on both ends and thick in the middle they can very alot in size.They look alot like a big skirt steak You'll save a few bucks buying the whole cryo package even with having to do some trimming

2020年2月2日 · not attached to, the Skirt Steak. There is only ONE per cow. There are two types of 'skirt' steak 1) inner skirt from the flank/hindquarter and 2) outer skirt from the plate/forequarter. The Outside Skirt is the trimmed, boneless portion of the diaphragm muscle, which is attached to the 6th through 12th ribs on the underside of the short plate.
