Mar 22, 2013 · It's tiring climbing up a tree 25' every 6 arrows. If anyone has any plans or pics that would be great. I want it to be sturdy enough to have a few people shooting at one time. I got the platform down I think it's just the legs/stilts to get it high enough to simulate real hunting angles.
Do I need to sight in from the actual hunting elevation?
Feb 4, 2024 · The bending at the waist recommendation is right on. The idea being if you drop shoulders to shoot from an elevation you are throwing off your flat shooting form, which you are most used to. And yes, I HIGHLY recommend shooting prep for the season also involving not just elevated shooting, but from a stand model you will be using.

Aug 20, 2017 · My platform is 7' ½"x 7’ and exactly 8’ high. Posts were dug 2’ and anchored in with concrete. The most important thing is to make sure the posts are square by using the string/stake/plumb bob method. I opted to use untreated dimensional lumber (with the posts being the exception) then seal and paint.
Aim higher or lower when Hunting from an Elevated stand?
Sep 9, 2015 · Clearly shooting form always plays a roll in shooting poorly from a stand. I practice at our clubs platform year around. It is fun. NO club with a platform, then get a treestand hung in the woods some place and practice. I used to practice in my in-laws back yard! I think that is key, practice from elevation.

Mar 1, 2020 · I’m putting the platform at the far end close to the property line so I’ll be shooting into our property. Don’t think I’ll get 1000 yards, it’s 976 to the back, but the rows start to curve enough you can’t get full use out of the plat form without being on the extreme edge.
