Benson Park is a 166-acre, passive recreational spot open to the general public and is the pride of the local residents. Full of rich history, Benson Park was once home to "Benson's Wild Animal Farm", opened in 1924. Today the park is maintained by the Department of Public Works with help from a dedicated group of volunteers.

Benson Park has great walking trails, a fenced-in dog park, a large playground, grassy areas, and a nostalgic gorilla cage for the kids to play in. I was amazed by the amount of amenities the first time I visited Benson Park. The playground is unique and suitable for toddlers - my two year old son loved the bridge with "holes".
